Fate caught eyes of the tree sailing back towards her, leaping into the air and vaulting over the wooden weapon that was now turned against her. She crested the tree straight into a kick to her side. She noticed the follow up kick, and figured that he was going to send electricity coursing through her again, so she decided to ground herself early. Spinning around midair she placed her palm against the ground and curled the rest of her body together to take the brunt of the impact. The explosion rocked through her, electricity coursing quickly through her systems and dispersing into the mountain below her. Fate's body went sailing into the mountain, creating a mild dent in the rock spire as her metal form recoiled from the force. Her clothing absorbed the fire and heat from the blast, barely even searing from the blast. After all she produced immense heat on her own, although her claws were currently losing their glow. They slowly faded from white to orange before shifting to their standard glistening black. The red sheen upon her skin dissipated as well as the heat being produced by her systems returned completely to normal levels. She looked around, and seeing her opponent's slight predicament she decided to take the time to rest her systems, already feeling them strain. Fate dropped to a single knee, letting the rest of her body go almost completely limp against the ground, becoming little more than a hunk of metal for a few moments.
As the other faunus lifted himself back onto the mountainside and asked for her wellbeing, Fate lifted herself back up and nodded towards him. "Do not fear for my safety. I assure you, no amount of punishment you give me will break me. Though I thank you for the concern." Fate gave a small bow, smiling at him. This was one of the many reasons she preferred faunus to humans. They were generally far more concerned for others of their kind than humans, at least in the majority of cases. There were outliers, the immediate one springing to mind being Aegle, but those were few and far between. Worst of all, for every Aegle there were two uptight noble families who believe faunus no more than creatures to abuse. Fate latched on to the anger she felt on those thoughts and utilized it to fuel her next charge. She sprinted towards her opponent, being sure to keep the ledge he had just climbed up behind him as she advanced. Arriving she did no fancy arm movements, no advanced maneuvers, no crazy martial arts. Instead she lifted her right leg and kicked forward with as much force as possible. The goal was to shove him straight backwards and off the ledge, and after doing that she jumped off after him. "Down we go!" The words were followed with Fate pulling her arms and legs in and angling her face downwards, increasing her velocity greatly towards the ground. She was plummeting straight towards the burning woods, though to an area not quite consumed by the inferno just yet. Just before hitting the tree line she flipped upwards, placing her feet beneath her as she crashed through the canopy and towards the forest floor.
The impact shook the ground, the nearest trees shaking and falling down around her. The forest floor became riddled with fissures, a few trees falling in on themselves because of it. The closest bits of fire were snuffed out by the falling trees, and the fire slowly beginning to wrap around her sudden arena in a ring. Looking up she saw her opponent plummeting quickly towards her and smirked. As he got into range she lifted her left hand closed in a fist towards his back, aiming towards the center of his spine to combine the falling momentum with her upwards strike. After impact she swung her right hand up over him to his chest and, spinning to his side, slammed him as hard as she could into the ground. As soon as she did that she kicked quickly off the ground in front of her, launching herself to the edge of the impromptu clearing and away from her opponent. She had rapidly learn that not only was he a dangerous close quarters combatant, but he was very good on the defensive. Albeit, his attempts to push her on the defensive hadn't worked all to well, the few times they had done decently clearly showcasing that her weakest point was when she was on the defense. After all her fighting style was to push the offense, and keep it until her adversary messed up. Once that happened the match would be hers, as she was incredibly opportunistic. Of course, the complete lack of ranged options in her repertoire was her other large weakness. Throughout the fight there were many times she could've-and likely should've-used ranged instead of charging into melee, and an astute mind would make the connection at about this time.
