In this tournament two fighters will enter the ring and duke it out for 10 posts each. During this time students must perform the best they can, showing what truly makes them great as a hunter in the allotted time (the last posts must include the bell ending the match) The match ends when time is called The criteria on which you will be judged on is shown bellow. The following criteria will serve as a guide for 3 judges per match, who will vote on the winner, assuming no conclusion has been made within the match itself.
Strategy; How well thought out their attacks are. Making guesses based on your opponent’s prior actions and equipment and adapting to them. E.G. Setting dust mines against a fast close quarters opponent, Feinting successfully, Analysing your opponent, Disarming opponents, shedding armour to run faster.
Flair; This is a spectacle after all, a tournament for the viewing public, give em the ol razzle dazzle, for instance using a semblance in a surprising and unique way. E.G. Using dust in an avant-garde way, like making a rolling ball and bursting out from it to get close to an opponent. Creating magnificent spectacles from dust or with a semblance to draw the crowd’s awe while fighting. Using masterful weapon tactics such as establishing a perimeter with sword strikes to force your opponent back.
Use of equipment; Do not underestimate the items you have on hand, and use them to your advantage. This is not the same as people being hit as a result of not using equipment well enough or deciding that their equipment is not suited to the current situation. E.G. Forgetting one has a shield to block with or ignoring attacking from range as an option to even try when dust is on hand.
Use of Environment; How well you use what Amity coliseum gives you, allows competitors to get the edge who’s abilities may not directly lie in the boundaries of the environment they are placed. It’s based on what they do outside of what they had, in E.G. Throwing mud in opponent’s eyes, climbing trees to attack from treetop, or throwing stones to make opponents think you are elsewhere. Note that semblance cannot be used on the arena environments.
